Blackview’s sub-brand Oscal has launched the Oscal MODERN 8 budget phone. The smartphone has a good-looking design and is offered in Wisteria Purple, Ripple Blue and Ash Gray colorways. Let’s explore its details.

The Oscal MODERN 8 has a thickness of 9.1mm and weighs 214g meaning it’s not only elegant, it’s also very slim and lightweight. The device also employs an anti-scratch rear coating.
The phone has a 6.75-inch HD+ IPS LCD teardrop display with a 90Hz refresh rate, 450 nits brightness and a 89.9% Screen-to-body ratio. Additionally, it ships with the Android 13 OS right out of the box with the DokeOS 4.0 UI on top.
Further, the phone is powered by the Unisoc T616 12nm octa-core processor and it comes in 8GB RAM & 128/256GB memory configurations. the phone supports up to 8GB virtual RAM expansion, meaning the phone’s RAM can be expanded up to 16GB using the expandable RAM software feature.
At the back of the phone is a dual rear camera setup led by a 50MP (Samsung ISOCELL JN1) sensor and an 8MP ultrawide angle lens and an 8MP front facing camera. The phone has many nice camera features including Night, Beauty, Portrait and HDR modes, these features would let you take nice looking shots even at nighttime.
Finally, the phone is backed by a large 6000mAh non-removable battery that could easily last more than a day on a single charge and with moderate use. It also support 18W fast charging but no wireless or reverse charging.
