Tecno has announced the Tecno Pova 6 Pro, the successor of the Tecno Pova 5 Pro. Just like the Pova 5 Pro, this device has a futuristic design with fancy lights and it is offered in Comet Green and Meteorite Gray colorways and according to online sources, the Pova 6 Pro would launch globally in March.
Tecno Pova 6 Pro Specs
Ultra-modern design, thin and lightweight
The Tecno Pova 6 Pro weighs 198g which means it’s not very heavy and it is 7.9 mm thick indicating that it’s also a very thin smartphone. The device is rated IP53 which means it is dust and splash resistant, now do not confuse this IP rating with IP68, IP68 means that the device is water resistant but this device should not be submerged in water, it’s going to get damage because it is only resistant to splashes.
The phone has a 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED Center-Aligned punch hole display and it has a 120 Hz refresh rate which is very nice, the resolution is 1080×2436 pixels and it has a peak brightness of about 1,300 nits which should be bright enough to use under direct sunlight.
Efficient Processor with 5G support
Under the hood, the device is powered by the Mediatek Dimensity 6080 processor. In case you guys are not aware of this processor, it’s basically the 5G version of the Helio G99, it’s very similar to The Helio G99 with just little changes here and there. I think one of the differences is the GPU that is paired with this processor.
The Helio G99 is paired with the Mali G57 MP2 GPU while this processor is paired with the Mali G57 MC2 GPU and another difference is the clock speed or the frequency speed of the processor which is about 2.4 GHz for this processor and it’s about 2.2 GHz for The Helio G99, so that’s basically just the minor differences between the Helio G99 and the Mediatek Dimensity 6080.
Expect decent quality shots
In the camera department, the device feature a triple rear camera setup, consisting of a 108 MP wide angle lens with phase detection auto-focus(PDAF), followed by a 2 MP camera and an additional 0.08 MP auxiliary lens. While the front-facing camera is 32 MP. The camera is capable of taking good quality images and can record up to 2K videos at 30 fps.
The device comes in two RAM variants including 8 GB RAM and 12 GB RAM options with both variants having the same 256 GB internal storage that can be expanded via MicroSD.
The Pova 6 Pro is meant to be a gaming device, so Tecno should have gone for a much better processor but with the Dimensity 6080 chip paired with up to 12 GB RAM, it should be able to perform quite well.
It has a large battery and super fast charging speed
Finally, the device pack a 6,000 mAh battery, which is quite large and it supports 70W fast charging and 10W reverse wired charging. A perfect combo honestly, the 6000mAh battery from experience could last up to 2 days on a single charge and with moderate use. If it’s used for gaming mostly, then it should last a day and thankfully, the Dimensity 6080 is a 6nm chip, meaning that it’s more efficient and should produce less heat during intense usage.
The 70W fast charger is fast enough to rapidly fill up the battery if it runs out. Besides, Tecno claims that it attained up to 50% in just 20 mins and 100% in less than an hour. The 10W reverse charging capabilities of the device is also worth mentioning.
Other features includes Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, stereo speakers, GPS, FM radio, Dual SIM, 5G connectivity, under-display fingerprint, face ID, etc.
Conclusion
The Tecno Pova 6 Pro is definitely an impressive 5G mid-range phone, its design is quite elegant and unique, battery is very large and charging speed is extremely fast, it also support 5g connectivity, has a superb AMOLED bright display, an optical fingerprint sensor, etc.
The Tecno Pova 6 Pro is definitely feature-packed and it’s likely going to retail for up to #300K in Nigeria.
