The ZTE Libero Flip is a foldable phone launched in Japan, it’s equipped with great specifications and features. It’s a flip phone so it can be made compact and can easily fit in your pocket when folded. Let’s find out what the device has to offer.
ZTE Libero Flip specifications
The ZTE Libero Flip has a punch hole display that measures 6.9 inches with a resolution of 1188 x 2790 in its unfolded state, the device also feature a circle-shaped rear view that measures 1.43-inches.
The rear display has different functions including showing notifications, date, time and it can be used to control media playbacks.
The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 octa-core 5g processor and it utilizes 6GB RAM with an internal storage of 128GB. The memory is quite small and would definitely not be enough for a lot of users and while not confirmed, it doesn’t seem like the device would be offered in multiple memory options. Hopefully, it supports memory expansion.
It has a camera module that form a ring around the rear display and it contains a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 50 MP main camera and a 2 MP depth sensor, while the punch hole houses a 16 MP front camera for selfies and video calls.
The main camera can record up to 4K@30fps videos while the selfie cam can record 1080p @30fps. The Libero Flip is backed by a 4310mAh battery, capable of powering the device for an entire day on a single charge with moderate use. It supports 33W fast charging.
It ships with the Android 13 OS and it supports NFC, 5g connectivity, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, etc. The ZTE Libero Flip is scheduled to launch on the 29th of February and would retail for JPY 39,800 which is about $265.
Is the ZTE Libero Flip a buy?
The ZTE Libero flip is one of the cheapest 5g flip phones, its major downside is its memory. As stated above, the device has just 6GB RAM and 128GB storage which isn’t large enough for today’s large multimedia files. E.g, a one minute 1080p video could have a size of up to 300MB and would be more than 2X larger if the video resolution is 4K, apps including games takes up huge chunk of memory space, etc.
So the memory is definitely a con while other specs are quite impressive.
